To help navigate what can sometimes be a maze of information tostart a business, Generations Federal Credit Union has launched itsSmall Business Boot Camp.

The eight-week series from the $404 million Generations FCU in San Antonio includes classes on smallbusiness overview, the business plan, financials and projectionsand entity formation.

The small business overview class will provide participants withan understanding of how to research business-relevant data, trendsand consumer statistics, business types as well as formation, andwhere to get help along the way, according to Generations FCU.

The business plan will discuss how to create a detailed businessplan that will serve as a guide for starting and navigating theirbusinesses.

|

Financials and projections will provide essentials forunderstanding and reading an income and balance sheet and develop abreak-even analysis.

|

The final class, entity formation, will enable attendees todetermine the business structure that best fits their needs, andone that will help them protect their personal assets, the creditunion said.

Smallbusiness owners should never have to face the countlesshurdles, stress and difficulties by themselves. So our goal is tobe their financial advocate, to offer step-by-step assistancethroughout the process, and to put them on the right path so theycan grow and succeed and in turn our community can grow andsucceed,” said David Rodriguez, financial education advocate forGenerations FCU.

The small business boot camp will take place Feb. 7, Feb. 21,Feb. 28 and March 28 at Generations FCU. The cost of the eight-weekcourse is $40, according to the credit union.
