NASCUS announced Wednesday that Chairman Orla Beth Peck has appointed Connecticut regulator Mary Ellen O'Neill to the organization's Board of Directors.O'Neill is currently director of the Financial InstitutionsDivision for the Connecticut Department of Banking.

Peck, the supervisor of credit unions for the Utah Department ofFinancial Institutions, called O'Neill “a respected veteran ofstate financial regulation” and said NASCUS is grateful to have herwealth of experience on the board.

O'Neill's term will end in September 2015. She is filling theunexpired term held by Mary Hughes, Financial Institutions Bureau chief, IdahoDepartment of Finance. Jenny Champagne, vice president ofRegulatory Development and Government Relations, told CreditUnion Times that Hughes “had priorities at the Idaho agencythat led her to the decision” to relinquish her board position.
