Don Cohenour, who was named interimpresident of the MissouriCredit Union Association in November, has been appointed to thepermanent president/CEO post by the trade's board of directors.

He succeeds Mike Beall, who left MCUA to become president/CEO of theNational Cooperative Business Association. “Don Cohenour is theideal candidate to continue driving the strategic direction of theorganization,” said Dennis Pierce, MCUA's board chairman, in a CUNArelease. “Don's knowledge of credit unions combined with thestrength of relationships built throughout his tenure will ensureMCUA maintains a strong connection with its membership.”

Cohenour is an 18-year veteran of MCUA, having previously servedas chief membership officer. In that role, he managed fieldrepresentatives, served as an executive field representative withall member credit unions and provided overall responsibility forcredit union relationships.

He also was responsible for credit union staff and volunteerdevelopment, consulting services, professional development, and allproduct and service sales in the state. “I am looking forward to mynew role with MCUA and my continued work with credit unionadvocates throughout the state,” Cohenour said. “The initiatives weset in motion make this an exciting time to lead the organizationand make the credit unions of Missouri grow.”
