The $972 million, Albany, N.Y.-based CAPCOM Federal Credit Union wants to get young adults laughing asthey learn how to manage their money.
|Comedian and financial blogger Colin Ryan will be the star ofthe credit union's upcoming money management workshop, “Dollars andSense,” scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 8 at the Albany Marriott, thecredit union said.
|At the free workshop, which is intended for young adults ages 15to 25, Ryan will discuss personal finance in a fun, interactivemanner and teach four key skills needed to build a successfulcareer, CAP COM FCU said.
|The credit union will also hold a companion workshop for parentsat the Albany Marriott on Tuesday, which will focus on how tocomplete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid form.
|“Young people need to learn the basics of money management,”said Kim Donah, a certified college planning specialist for CAP COMFCU's College Bound Program. “And, most parents need help buildinga smart plan to pay for college. This special night of workshops,prizes and entertainment will meet everyone's needs.”
|The workshops will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. inseparate ballrooms at the hotel, located at 189 Wolf Road inAlbany, N.Y. Young adults and parents can register for the workshops online.
