Retiring CUES President/CEO Fred Johnson has been named anhonorary lifetime member of the Filene Research Institute inMadison, Wis., the organizations said Wednesday.

Johnson retires from Madison-based CUES on Dec. 31 after 23years and will be succeeded by PSCU executive Chuck Fagan. CUESalso has named its headquarters after Johnson.

“Fred was one of the earliest and most ardent supporters of thevision of the Filene Research Institute,” said Filene CEO Mark Meyer. “We want to acknowledge his ideas, hiscontributions, his leadership, and, above all, his friendship. Wewill miss him, but his legacy is strong.”

Other honorary lifetime members of the Filene Research Instituteare Richard “Doc” Heins, former CUNA Mutual president/CEO, and DaveChatfield, the institute's former executive director, the institutesaid.
