From clothing to toys and groceries, families in need will get their Christmas wishes filled thanks to Mutual Savings Credit Union and local radio station Magic 96.
Through the Christmas Wish program, families and individuals will receive much-needed gifts. Magic 96.5 is granting a wish each day leading up to Christmas and listeners have been encouraged to nominate deserving friends or family members by emailing the candidate’s information and details to the radio station.
The $185 million Mutual Savings CU in Birmingham, Ala., didn’t think twice about becoming involved.
“It’s wonderful to be a part of something that makes the holidays so much better,” said Sonja Purvis, chief marketing and development .“It’s special to see the listeners that nominate people for Christmas Wish and the people that have their wish granted get equal enjoyment out of the program.”
As part of Mutual Savings CU’s involvement with the Christmas Wish program, Magic 96 was recently on site at its Riverchase branch and surprised members with tickets to the Dec. 12 Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert.
“The only thing bigger than Christmas music on Magic 96.5 is our Christmas Wish program,” said Tom Hanrahan, regional program director and Clear Channel Birmingham’s operations manager. “Through the generosity of our listeners and the incredible support from corporate partners like Mutual Savings Credit Union, needy families throughout the Birmingham area are assisted in their time of critical need.”
