NAFCU said Thursday it has promoted Tessema Tefferi to seniorregulatory affairs counsel and hired two more attorneys to work inthat area.

P.J. Hoffman is a University of Miami Law School graduate whohad been working as a finance director for a Virginia congressionalcandidate and is licensed to practice law in Illinois, the tradegroup said.

Angela Meyster had been a law clerk at the Financial ServicesRoundtable where the graduate of the Cardozo School of Law in NewYork had helped with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau'sreconciliation of the Truth in Lending Act with the Real EstateSettlement Procedures Act, NAFCU said.

They both will carry the title of regulatory affair counsel, thetrade group said.

Tefferi joined NAFCU in 2006. “His keen insight and knowledge ofthe credit union industry has been pivotal in providing regulatoryanalyses, preparing comment letters, and presenting NAFCU positionsand regulatory activities to member credit unions,” the trade groupsaid in a statement.
