Tew to Chair Nevada League

Wayne Tew, president\CEO of Clark County Union in Las Vegas, was elected chairman of the  Nevada Credit Union League.

The other members of the board are Vice Chairman Eric Estes, president\CEO of Boulder Dam Credit Union, Boulder City; Treasurer Wally Murray, president\CEO of Greater Nevada Credit Union, Carson City; Director Dennis Flannigan, president\CEO of Great Basin Federal Credit Union, Reno; and Director Barbara Reuter, president\CEO of Financial Horizons Credit Union, Hawthorne.

Tew has served as president\CEO of Clark County since 1986. He’s been involved in the credit union industry, having served as chairman of the Client Group Board for SUMMIT Information Systems, a Fiserv company and on the advisory board for American Share Insurance, a private deposit insurance company.

Tew earned his master’s and bachelor’s degrees in accounting from Brigham Young University and is a certified public accountant. Prior to joining CCCU, he served as vice president and controller for City-County Credit Union in Minneapolis, controller for Minnesota Online and auditor for Arthur Andersen & Co. in Minneapolis.

Established in 1951, Clark County Credit Union has more than 35,000 members and $475 million in assets. It primarily serves employees working for Clark County, City of Henderson, City of Las Vegas, and City of North Las Vegas; employees and volunteers medical profession offices or groups in Clark County; and members of Nevada public radio stations.

The Nevada League represents 14 credit unions and more than 193,000 credit union members in Nevada.
