Envision Financial Staff Pledges $44,000 to Charities, Organizations
Envision Financial employees have pledged more than $44,000 to charities and other community organizations in its hometown of Langley, British Columbia.
Recipients will include food banks, a children’s hospice and the United Way. The donations will be made via regular paycheck deductions and that total doesn’t include the credit union’s other giving and volunteer programs throughout the year.
“Giving is a privilege—we GET to give and we can do so much if we band together,” Leona Fleck, an Envision Financial branch manager, said in a statement.
“A few years ago, Envision enabled me to work for the United Way on loan, where I came face-to-face with the kinds of organizations our Employee Giving Campaign supports—organizations that feed the hungry, provide services for children and run transition homes. It had a huge impact on me and I feel proud to be part of an organization that encourages its employees to give back,” Fleck said.
A similar commitment of $35,000 has been made by employees from Envision’s First West Credit Union partner Valley First for charities across the Okanagan, Similkameen and Thompson region in the Canadian province, First West said.
Envision and Valley First are divisions of the $6.6 billion First West, which said it now has 37 branches and 29 insurance offices throughout the Lower Mainland, Fraser Valley, Kitimat and Okanagan, Similkameen and Thompson regions in British Columbia.
