Envision Financial employees have pledged more than $44,000 tocharities and other community organizations in its hometown ofLangley, British Columbia.

Recipients will include food banks, a children's hospice and theUnited Way. The donations will be made via regular paycheckdeductions and that total doesn't include the credit union's othergiving and volunteer programs throughout the year.

“Giving is a privilege—we GET to give and we can do so much ifwe band together,” Leona Fleck, an Envision Financial branch manager, said in a statement.

“A few years ago, Envision enabled me to work for the United Wayon loan, where I came face-to-face with the kinds of organizationsour Employee Giving Campaign supports—organizations that feed thehungry, provide services for children and run transition homes. Ithad a huge impact on me and I feel proud to be part of anorganization that encourages its employees to give back,” Flecksaid.

A similar commitment of $35,000 has been made by employees fromEnvision's First West Credit Union partner Valley First for charitiesacross the Okanagan, Similkameen and Thompson region in theCanadian province, First West said.

Envision and Valley First are divisions of the $6.6 billionFirst West, which said it now has 37 branches and 29 insuranceoffices throughout the Lower Mainland, Fraser Valley, Kitimat andOkanagan, Similkameen and Thompson regions in British Columbia.
