The $586 million Freedom Credit Union in Warminster, Pa., isoffering its 59,000 members emergency relief loans in the wake ofHurricane Sandy.

The credit union said it has committed $2 million to the loans,which it said will have a very low fixed rate regardless of creditscore and can be for up to$1,500 for 18 months.

The credit union said applications for the loans will be takenuntil the $2 million is exhausted or Dec. 31.

Freedom CU is open to anyone who lives, works, worships,performs volunteer service or attends school in Bucks, Chester,Delaware, Montgomery or Philadelphia counties and it has branchesin Philadelphia, Abington, Lansdale and Warminster.
