Nine credit unions participated in the Kansas Credit Union Association Make A Difference campaign thatgave $15,000 worth of gas to unsuspecting consumers throughout thestate last week.

Consumers either received $25 worth of gas at participatingservice stations or a $25 gas gift card. The gifts were given toconsumers in Ark City, Emporia, Topeka, Wichita, Winfield, andWarnego.

“Credit unions were founded on the idea of people helpingpeople,” said Marla Marsh, President/CEO of the Kansas Credit UnionAssociation. “As not for profit financial cooperatives, creditunions exist to support their members and their localcommunities.”

The credit unions that participated in the Make A Differencecampaign were $58 million Kansas State University Federal CreditUnion in Manhattan; $30 million Ark Valley Credit Union inArkansas City; $828 million Meritrust Credit Union in Wichita; $26million Catholic Family Federal Credit Union in Wichita; $78million Wichita Federal Credit Union in Wichita; $73 millionCentral Star Credit Union in Wichita; $166 million EducationalCredit Union in Topeka; $270 million Quest Credit Union in Topekaand $55 million Emporia State Federal Credit Union inEmporia.
