The $25.1 billion, 1.8-million member State Employees' CreditUnion said it has now opened three new branches in Greensboro,N.C., since March with another set to open by the end of theyear.

Raleigh-based SECU, the nation's largest state-chartered creditunion, said it now has nine locations in Greensboro as the creditunion's growth continues in the Triad area (Greensboro, High Pointand Winston-Salem) of the Tarheel State.

SECU now has 244 branches in all 100 North Carolina counties.“SECU's growth in membership and expansion of products andfinancial advisory services demonstrate the need for continuedbrick- and-mortar personal service,” the credit union said in astatement.

“We are very pleased with the growth in the Greensboro/GuilfordCounty area. The credit union has made great strides in finding newfacility locations to provide convenience for existing and futureSECU members in this area,” said Damian Carter, SECU senior vicepresident of the Greensboro-West Market Street branch.

SECU said its 2012 Member Survey conducted by CUNA Researchshowed that SECU branches are sited an average of five to sevenmiles from members' homes and places of work.
