Online bankers with the credit union can self-enroll for mobilebanking and then view accounts, transfer funds, pay bills and findthe nearest fee-free ATM using any smart phone or tablet, DCECUsaid.

The technology provider is Access Softek and a third of the Midland, Mich., credit union's56,400 members has registered in the first two months of the mobileoffering, DCECU said.

|

“Quite frankly, we knew that there was a demand for thiscapability. We just didn't realize that adoption would be quite asbrisk,” said DCECU Vice President of Lending Ken Roznowski.

|

Jon Witucki, the credit union's website administrator, saidadoption has been 10 times as fast as expected and that as thecredit union watched its member support queues, they could see theself-registration process has gone smoothly.

“The backups and member issues that we prepared for simply neveroccurred,” Witucki said.

The ability to offer mobile check deposit functionality is beingworked on now, the credit union said.

The service was launched in conjunction with the credit union's75th anniversary celebration in July.
