At its branches around the world, Navy Federal Credit Unionrecently took part in a week-long celebration to honor itsmembers.

The $50 billion credit union in Vienna, Va., said during theweek of Sept. 17-23, members were able to take advantage of offerssuch as cash back for auto refinancing, special certificate rates and more.

As a result, Navy Federal said it signed on more than 60,000 new members,$80 million in new deposits and $95 million in booked loans.

The Tell Us Why You Love Navy Federal Facebook videochallenge simultaneously brought the party to the social sphere,taking in 350 home video submissions.

Musical odes to Navy Federal, clever vignettes and touchingpersonal stories from members formed the contest that spikedactivity prior to the celebration, the credit union said. Fan votesselected eight first-place winners and eight honorable mentions whoshared the spotlight and received a portion of $63,000.

Winners reveled in an oversized check photo op fit for acelebrity with branch staff and onlookers cheering wildly,according to Navy Federal.
