CU Companies said it has released an Android version of itsconsumer information marketing app.

The New Brighton, Minn., CUSO had released itsiPhone version in the spring. Functions include mortgage ratealerts, news articles, educational videos and a location-based ATMfinder that includes more than 400,000 locations worldwide.

“The key features are aimed at building a relationship with theborrower,” said Brad Crandall, CU Companies CEO. “We see CUCompanies' role as being a resource to our owners andpartners.”

Credit unions can promote the CU Companies-branded apps to theirmemberships to deliver information, or they can choose to tailorthe entire app to their own brand, the CUSO said. The creditunion-branded apps include the ability for clients to add their ownvideos and link to social media and contact functions.

“Part of our role is to help our owners and partners stayrelevant and engaged with their memberships. Launching a programthat allows them to purchase customized apps at a discounted priceplays into our original company makeup of offering a better productunited than what a credit union could do on their own,” Crandallsaid.
