Big Ol' Pig

The $131 million, 19,700-member Credit Union of Ohio used a pig to make its point during the recent Arts in the Alley Music and Arts Festival parade in the Columbus suburban community of Grove City. The theme of the parade float was “Happiness is Financial Health.” The life-size piggy bank was attended by staff members wearing scrubs and stethoscopes posing as “financial doctors.”

"Any time we can use a community sponsorship opportunity to spread the word about what we're committed to do in a creative way, we take advantage of that," said Director of Marketing Jill Gerschutz. "That's the great advantage credit unions have, being able to be involved with community events on a very personal level."

Hilliard-based Credit Union of Ohio serves state employees across Ohio, all of Franklin County and students, faculty and staff at Ohio State University.
