Credit unions that serve military service members in their communities or as select employee groups may be interested in a Sept. 10 online discussion regarding guidance and compliance issues related to the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act.
Discussion topics will include permanent change of station guidance, enhancements to the Home Affordable Mortgage Program, short sale assistance for military homeowners, recent enforcement actions and SCRA compliance tips.

Federal agencies participating in the event include the NCUA, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the Justice Department, Federal Reserve, Department of the Treasury, Federal Housing Finance Agency, FDIC and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.
Sandy Braunstein, director of the Fed’s Division of Consumer and Community Affairs, will provide welcoming remarks, and Holly Petraeus, assistant director for Servicemember Affairs at the CFPB, will begin the presentation with an overview of service member financial protection.
Additional speakers will discuss their agencies’ roles in service member financial protection. The Sept. 10 webinar is scheduled for 2:30-4 p.m. EDT. Participation is free, but prior registration is required at the Philadelphia Fed’s website.
