More than 1,200 plebes from the U.S. Naval Academy Class of 2016 were the special guests of Navy Federal Credit Union at an Aug. 3 minor leage game between the Bowie Baysox and the Trenton Thunder at the Maryland team’s home stadium.

The 12th annual Navy Night ballgame began with the national anthem played by the U.S. Navy Band and a throwing of the first pitch by retired Rear Adm. Steven Romano, the credit union’s executive vice president of branch operations.

“The plebes are working so hard all day long. It feels great to give back to the men and woman who are about to give so much of themselves by serving our country,” said Navy Federal CEO President/CEO Cutler Dawson. “Even though the Baysox lost to the Trenton Thunder 10 to 6, it is a night that each midshipman will always remember and that’s really why we are all here.”
