Dover Federal Credit Union, Dover, Del.,announced that Heather Shupe, vice president ofhuman resources for the credit union, recently completed therequirements of the Credit Union Executives Society's CEO Instituteprogram. As a graduate of the program, Shupe has earned thedesignation of certified chief executive . Shupe, who has been inthe field of human resources for over 10 years, has held theposition of human resources vice president with Dover Federal sinceJanuary 2009. She holds a bachelor's degree in psychology and amaster's degree in social work.

Southern Mass Credit Union, Fairhaven, Mass.,announced that Maureen Bertrand, executive vicepresident of operations, retired from the credit union after 29years at Southern Mass.  Bertrand  began hercareer at Southern Mass in 1983 when the credit union was SouthernMassachusetts Telephone Workers' Credit Union. At that time thecredit union had  $13.9 million in assets. During her tenure, the credit union grew to over $193 million inassets and  over 10,000 members.

Gesa Credit Union, Richland, Wash., announcedthat Teresa Shively, education specialist, hasearned the credit union development educator designation aftercompleting training sponsored by the National Credit UnionFoundation on the University of Wisconsin campus. Shivelycoordinates and serves as community liaison for Gesa's High Schooland Community Outreach programs encompassing seven student-operatedhigh school branches, financial education workshops in local highschools and colleges and seminars for teens andparents.

Numerica Credit Union, Spokane Valley, Wash.,announced that Patricia Braddock was recentlyhired as vice president of the central Washington region,overseeing the credit union's administration of market areassurrounding the tri-cities, Wenatchee Valley and Moses Lakebranches. Braddock has over 35 years of experience in the financialservices industry. Her most recent employer was American West Bankwhere she was the senior vice president regional manager for northIdaho and eastern Washington. She attended North Idaho College andPacific Coast Banking School.

Spokane Teachers Credit Union, Spokane, Wash.,announced that Barb Richey was appointed vicepresident of marketing. Richey was an STCU board member from 2005to 2008 and became director of marketing for the  creditunion in 2010.  Richey holds a bachelor's degree inapplied psychology and a master's degree in communications with apublic relations certificate, all from EWU. Richey replacesBrad Hunter, who retired June 29 after 13 years asvice president of the  credit union.

US Federal Credit Union, Burnsville, Minn.,recently welcomed Don MacRae to the position ofbranch manager for their Shakopee location. MacRae graduated fromthe University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire with a major in marketing.His industry background includes working as a personal banker andseveral years of branch manager experience. In his new position,MacRae will oversee the Shakopee branch staff.

Telhio Credit Union, Columbus, Ohio, announcedthat Deanna L. Blair has joined the businessservices team as a business services relationship manager. In hernew role, Blair will be responsible for serving Telhio's businessmembers, directing various functions in the business servicesdepartment and serving as a liaison for branch locations andbusiness members. She will oversee Telhio's merchant servicesproduct and will manage business member promotions and events.Blair previously served as a business banking specialist at a localbanking institution. Prior to that, she held various member andbusiness service roles at Navy Federal Credit Union and theCongressional Federal Credit Union in Virginia. Blair has abachelor of science degree from Radford University.

 Insight Credit Union, Orlando, Fla.,recently appointed Jennifer Mendez, Tonia Perodin and GregSalter as regional branch managers.  Mendez hasbeen with the credit union nearly five years.  She startedon the teller line, worked in member service and most recentlyserved as a branch manager.  As a regional branch manager,Mendez has assumed the responsibility of a new branch in Inverness,as well as 3 other Insight locations in Lady Lake, Leesburg andClermont.  Perodin has been with Insight for 11 years andhas worked in several departments including the risk managementdepartment as a collector.  Perodin was then promoted tothe member support center as the manager. She  willoversee a new branch in Vista Lakes, in addition to overseeinglocations in Oviedo, Maitland, Downtown Orlando and South Orlando.Salter has been in the financial industry for nine  years,working in mortgage and consumer lending.  Salters came toInsight in 2008 and served as a branch manager.  In hisnew position, Salter is responsible for the new Insight branch inWekiva, as well as the branches in Eustis, Lake Mary and WinterGarden.

CUNA Mutual Holding Co., Madison, Wis.,announced that Caren Gabriel was appointed to theboard of directors. Gabriel is president/CEO of Ascend FederalCredit Union of Tullahoma, Tenn. Gabriel has been with the creditunion since 1985 and has served as CEO for the past eight years.Under her leadership, Ascend has grown from $960 million to $1.6billion in assets. Gabriel is a graduate of the University ofAlabama, where she earned a degree in marketing. She received herlaw degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law. From1985 to 2004, Gabriel served Ascend as executive vice president andgeneral counsel and, in 2004, was named president/CEO.
