The lending work of credit unions was highlighted for Rep. ReneeEllmers (R-N.C.) when the congresswoman paid a visit recently tothe Rockfish Volunteer Fire Department in Raeford, N.C. Thedepartment obtained a loan from LGFCU Financial Partners, thecommercial lending division of the $1.2 billion Local GovernmentFederal Credit Union in Raleigh, for a station renovation andaddition. Ellmers is a co-sponsor of the House bill that would raise the member business lending cap forcredit unions.
