A former teller at the $40 million Capstone Federal Credit Union in Aliso Viejo, Calif., has been banned by the NCUA from participating in the affairs of any federally insured financial institution, the agency said Tuesday.
Alexander Baduria Flores had been convicted of grand theft and sentenced to 120 days in prison and three years of supervised probation and ordered to pay restitution, the agency said.
According to the Orange County Register, Flores took about $70,000 from the credit union and told authorities he lost the money gambling. He was arrested last summer.
