Heritage Community Credit Union Mourns Longtime Volunteer George Bell

Heritage Community Credit Union in Sacramento, Calif., is mourning the death of longtime volunteer George Bell Jr., who has died at the age of 77.

Bell got his start in the credit union movement more than 37 years ago and has served as a Heritage Community CU volunteer since 1998.

Through his years of service, he held several elected volunteer positions on both the supervisory committee and the board of directors, serving as board chairman for seven years. He is credited with contributing to HCCU’s long-term stability.

“The HCCU volunteers and staff were saddened to hear of George Bell’s passing,” said Celeste Martinez, president/CEO. “We have greatly appreciated George’s many years of dedicated service to our credit union. He will truly be missed.”

Bell is survived by his wife, Brigitte Bell, three sons, and two grandchildren.
