Thompson brings 10 years of human resourcesmanagement and leadership experience to First Florida. She is thedirector and strategic human resources business partner for CSXTransportation Inc., where she has strategic oversight for over30,000 management and union employees. In 2010, she was recognizedwith the CSX Chairman's Award of Excellence. In addition to hercareer experience, Thompson serves on the board of directors of theHubbard House and the National African American Women's LeadershipInstitute. Thompson received a bachelor of science in marketingfrom Troy State University, and she received a master of arts inhuman resources management and development from Webster University.She also earned a senior professional in human resourcesdesignation.

Freedom Credit Union, Warminster, Pa.,announced the promotion of SusanBaranowski,  who assumes the newly created roleof vice president of human resources. Baranowski joins Freedom with15 years of human resources, training and development experience,including recent positions as director of workforce development atBucks County Community College and as vice president with the JonesGroup. Baranowski is a graduate of Drexel University and is anactive member of the Society of Human Resource Management. Also newto Freedom is Gerard McGeever, who will assume theposition of vice president of marketing. He has  nineyears of credit union industry experience and an MBA from LaSalleUniversity.

NMTW Community Credit Union, Lowell, Mass.,announced that Rebecca Scaglione has taken therole of home financing consultant.  Scaglione brings 20years of mortgage and banking experience to NMTW CCU, having workedpreviously at Pentucket Bank in Haverhill and Wells Fargo Bank inAndover.

TEG Federal Credit Union, Poughkeepsie, N.Y.,announced that it has hired Arthur Anderson assenior mortgage officer and Beverly Bates assenior mortgage underwriter.  It has also promotedJames Lentz to business developmentofficer.  All three join the credit union's newresidential and commercial lending department.  Andersonjoins TEG with 25 years of sales and management experience. In hisnew position, Anderson is responsible for procuring new commercialand residential mortgage transactions for the creditunion.  Prior to joining TEG, Anderson served as the NewYork-area manager for Weichert Financial.  He has alsoheld management positions at Bank of America, Warwick Savings Bankand the Bank of New York.  Anderson earned a BS inaccounting from Chowan University.  He has also served asa disbursing officer in the U.S. Navy and chief purser in the U.S.Merchant Marines. Bates joins TEG with  27 years ofmortgage underwriting experience. In her new position, Bates willbe responsible for underwriting and approving mortgageproducts.  Prior to joining TEG, Bates served as amortgage underwriter for Provident Bank.  She has alsoheld underwriting positions of increasing responsibility atorganizations such as Genworth Financial, Countrywide Home Loans,Warwick Savings Bank, Keycorp Mortgages Inc., Home Funding Inc.,Empbanque Capital Corp. and Norstar Mortgage Corp. Lentz startedhis career with TEG in 2008 as a teller and has since served thecredit union in numerous positions of increasing responsibility,most recently as manager of the Beekman branch.  In hisnew position, Lentz will develop and implement programs to attractnew business relationships to the credit union.  He earned a BS in economics and math from PaceUniversity.  He is an affiliate member of the New YorkState Commercial Association of Realtors and is involved with theMid-Hudson Valley Mortgage Bankers Association.

America's First Federal Credit Union,Birmingham, Ala., announced Teresa Reno Owens asthe new vice president-controller. Owens has been with America'sFirst for 19 years and was formerly the assistant vice president offinance and accounting.

Firstmark Credit Union, San Antonio, had its board of directors honor James Muir,secretary/treasurer of the board, for his 60 years of dedicatedservice. Muir has held the positions of secretary and executivecommittee member since 1984.  His service began in 1951when he first joined the board of directors. At that time, the CUwas the San Antonio Teachers Credit Union. Muir served 35 years asa teacher with the San Antonio ISD and holds a bachelor of businessadministration degree and a master of education. A WorldWar II veteran, Muir enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1940 and obtainedhis commission as an officer in 1942.  He served as anactive duty serviceman in locations such as North Africa, Sicily,Normandy, North France, Ardennes and Rhineland. Muir is also anactive member of the San Antonio Area Retired TeachersAssociation.

Security Service Federal Credit Union, SanAntonio, announced the selection of Kay Barclay toserve as the manager of consumer lending. Barclay will beresponsible for managing the underwriting, processing, closing andservicing of consumer and home equity loans. She has  25years in the banking industry and previously worked as theexecutive director of Home Equity Lending for USAA Federal SavingsBank.
