Cardtronics announced Thursday that it is deploying what'sbeing billed as the world's smallest ATM, NCR's new SelfServ14.
|The SelfServ 14, about the size of a toaster oven, can run NCR'sAPTRA software, which enables customers to use a single softwaresystem across their entire network.
|“Cardtronics was uniquely qualified to provide NCR withmeaningful marketplace feedback as it worked to pack the featuresof larger SelfServ ATMs into a more compact and affordable modelfor off-premise deployments,” said Rick Updyke, president,Cardtronics U.S. group. “The NCR SelfServ 14 retains upscalefunctionalities such as screen advertising, enabling Cardtronics todeliver its value proposition to a wider audience ofmerchants.”
|Cardtronics said it now provides access to credit unions to its53,000 U.S. ATMs through switches to the credit union-owned CO-OPFinancial Services and Credit Union 24, and offers surcharge freeservices to hundreds of credit unions through its Allpointnetwork.
|The NCRSelfServ 14 features the same look and feel as NCR's biggerSelfServ 16 and features up to three 2,000-note cassettes, and a10-inch color LCD display, the company said.
