The 21,000 member Eagle Community Credit Union is reaping the benefits of an endorsement from noted personal finance author, expert and communicator Dave Ramsey.
Eagle Community is a $191 million CU headquartered in Lake Forest, California.
“Dave is a big supporter of credit unions and when the opportunity came up to partner with him, we jumped on it. As a Dave Ramsey fan, I know how loyal his listeners are. Those are the kind of people we want to work with—those are the people credit unions were created for,” says Emily Friesen, Vice President of Marketing for Eagle.
The CU said that Ramsey employees visited the CUs branches in the weeks leading up to the endorsement to make sure the credit union held the level of customer service that Ramsey demands from the organizations with which he partners.
In the radio ad, recorded by Ramsey, he says, “the folks at Eagle Community Credit Union are who I would recommend to my friends and family.” That endorsement has driven hundreds of unique visitors to www.EagleCu.org/Dave in the last three months, the CU said.
Eagle Community did not say exactly how many new members have joined since the Ramsey endorsement, but did not that the endorsement has not only brought in new members, it has also helped influence existing members to open new accounts with the CU and use more of its products and services.
“While we certainly see new members coming in, what’s especially interesting is the shift of low-participating members moving multiple relationships to Eagle after hearing Dave talk about us,” explained Friesen
