Freedom Credit Union is offering prospective new members the ability to easily join the community-chartered credit union online.
The $499 million, 57,000-member CU in Warminster, Pa., has added AccountCreate, an online account opening solution, to its website.
Membership criteria and personal information are entered and the system then creates an account number and the ability to direct funds, the credit union said.
The credit union said it is among the first in southeastern Pennsylvania to offer the service. Freedom CU also recently launched remote check deposits for iPhones.
Freedom CU runs on a Fiserv Advantage core processing system and is using that company’s services to also provide the online account opening option.
Freedom CU operates branches in Warminster, Abington, Lansdale and Philadelphia and is open for membership to anyone who lives, works, worships, volunteers or attends school in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery or Philadelphia counties.
