121 Financial Goes With ZashPay P2P

The $421 million 121 Financial Credit Union in Jacksonville, Fla., said it has begun offering the ZashPay person-to-person payment service to its online banking customers.

The P2P service from Fiserv Inc. provides secure transfers in as little as one business day using a recipient’s email address or mobile number.

“By using ZashPay, you can eliminate the inconvenience of writing checks or having to get cash from an ATM. It is easy to transfer funds to family or friends in a very short time and at little expense, and payments go directly into their bank accounts,” said Cindy Breslin, the 36,600-member credit union’s vice president of marketing.

121 Financial CU was founded in 1935 and offers banking and loan services to any individual and small business in northeast Florida.

Fiserv said there now are 870 financial institutions committed to the ZashPay solution, about a fourth of them credit unions, and about 3 million end users have enrolled.
