Once again, executives at the $1.8 billion Travis Credit Unionin Vacaville, Calif., left the office, bought supplies and headedout for a day of hands-on volunteer service, in this case paintinga transition house at Mission Solano. The workday wrapped up amulti-day leadership planning retreat for the credit union.“Volunteering in the community is part of our promise to be anactive and supportive community partner,” said Patsy Van Ouwerkerk,president/CEO of the 185,000-member Travis CU. “This year'scommunity service project, made a difference in the lives of theindividuals who currently live in Mission Solano's transitionalhousing. It was a very worthwhile project.” In previousyears, the credit union did work for Habitat for Humanity and theFood Bank of Contra Costa and Solano.
