The 204,000 members of the $3.2 billion Ent Federal Credit Union in Colorado Springs, Colo., can now deposit checks using the cameras on their iPhones and Droids.
The RDC service is using technology from Vertifi Software, part of EasCorp in Burlington, Mass.
"As more of our members are using their smart phones to do their banking, we continue to look for new ways to use these devices to make managing their money more convenient," said Cathy Grossman, Ent’s vice president of corporate communications.
Mobile RDC is the second app service offered by the Colorado credit union. Ent recently added an Android app to its existing iPhone branch locator app using technology from LocatorSearch of New York City.
Ent also offers mobile Web banking and has 27 service centers in Colorado Springs, Pueblo and Denver.
