The $5.1 billion San Diego County Credit Union is now offering its 215,000 members same-day payments through its Bill Payer Plus online bill pay solution.
SDCCU is one of the first financial institutions to offer the new service through Fiserv Inc.'s CheckFree RXP platform, the company and credit union said.
“Same-day payments can help our members pay their bills on time and avoid late charges or penalties from their billers. In today’s economy, this can be a very useful service for many members,” said SDCCU President/CEO Teresa Halleck.
The credit union said it alerted its membership to the new option through its website and other contact channels.
"We want our members to turn to us first for their daily financial needs, and we believe if we provide the right services, they will," said Heather Moshier, executive vice president of information technology at SDCCU. "Offering a variety of integrated payment options including person-to-person payments and same-day bill payments allows us to stay relevant while delivering an excellent overall member experience."
Fiserv said the CheckFree enhancements also include account-to-account transfers, and along with same-day bill pay and person-to-person payments are available individually or as a suite.
