SECU of Raleigh, N.C. invited students from a local middle school to decorate the sidewalks around its Manteo branch with colorful chalk drawings. The event was a part of the credit union’s Youth Savings Challenge week, which also included a canned food drive for a local food pantry. Over 40 seventh graders from Manteo Middle School participated, many incorporating SECU’s “fat cat” youth mascot in their artwork. SECU’s Youth Savings Challenge week saw the opening of 700 new youth accounts and $3.2 million in deposits.
