The $470 million Freedom Credit Union of Warminster, Pa., said it has adopted CO-OP Financial Services’ My Deposit Mobile service, which will let members deposit checks remotely through iPhones.
Members can use the remote deposit capture feature for free at any time. The technology requires users to take a photo of the check and then enter information on the credit union’s mobile banking application.
My Deposit Mobile currently works only with iPhones, but the RDC service will be offered on other smartphones in the future, according to the credit union.
CO-OP Financial Services is based in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. and said it serves 3,000 credit unions.
