Members 1st Goes With New Encrypted Email Solution

The $2 billion Members 1st Federal Credit Union in Mechanicsburg, Pa., has replaced its email security solution with a new service from ZixCorp of Dallas, Texas.

The ZixCorp Email Encryption service now allows the credit union to transparently protect communications with more than 80 business partners, including corporate credit unions and regulators also using the service, the company and credit union said.

“Our old email encryption solution was inconvenient and completely ineffective. We needed an enhanced option that we could trust and that offered secure email with greater ease of use for our senders, receivers and IT team,” said Jay Parrish, executive vice president and chief information officer of 188,000-member Members 1st.

ZixCorp said its encrypted email community now serves more than 6,000 customers, including more than 250 credit unions, 1,250 other financial institutions and 1,200 hospitals.
