Mann Tapped to Lead APCO

Former APCO Employees Credit Union Vice President Merrill Mann has been promoted to president/CEO.

Mann steps in for Larry D. Morgan, who after 38 years of service retired last Dec. 31.

During his tenure, the Birmingham, Ala.-based credit union grew from six employees, approximately 3,200 members, one office and $3 million in assets to 73 employees, more than 61,000 members, 13 offices and $2 billion in assets.

"I am very proud of the growth of our credit union while I have been the CEO," said Morgan, who was APCO Employees CU's second CEO since its being chartered in 1953.

Mann, has been with the credit union for 25 years; he served as vice president for 20 years.
