Dwolla Launches Nationwide P2P System

A new peer-to-peer online and mobile payments system aimed at credit unions and other financial institutions has been launched by Dwolla Corp. of Des Moines, Iowa.

The P2P service offers 25-cent transfers regardless of amount and includes integration with Facebook and Twitter.

The service, backed by Iowa ?CUSOs The Members Group and The Veridian Group, is intended to give credit unions and community banks entry to the P2P market for both consumers and businesses.

The secure transactions don't involve direct access to sender personal information and will use TMG's payment processing channels, the CUSO and company said.

"With Dwolla as a partner, TMG is positioned to provide a revolutionary alternative payment platform to its financial institution clients," said TMG Executive Vice President Jeff Russell.
