Virtual Attendee Earns $5,000 Grant

For his participation in a number of forums at CUNA Mutual Group's first-ever Online Discovery Conference, Michael Kerr of Eagle Legacy Credit Union recently received a $5,000 grant.

Kerr won the grant with points he earned participating in the conference's activities, including webinars, chat rooms, exhibit hall booths, message boards and a networking lounge, according to CUNA Mutual. He plans to donate the $5,000 to the Eagle Legacy Foundation, the credit union's scholarship program.

More than 1,400 attendees participated in CUNA Mutual's virtual conference last week. The conference webinars and materials will be available online until Feb. 4.

CUNA Mutual also gave out prizes such as an Apple iPod Touch, a Kindle, gift cards, DVDs and a GPS navigator to more than a dozen attendees drawn from entries at the virtual booths in the conference's exhibit hall.
