CashEdge Launches Small Business Person-to-Person Channel

A small business version of the Popmoney person-to-person payments solution has been launched by CashEdge Inc.

The service allows users to pay vendors and employees electronically using only an e-mail address or mobile number or with an account number, the company said.

Popmoney for Small Business--which the company calls the first of its kind in the P2P space--also includes invoicing, ACH and credit card capability and payment tracking either through financial institution banking sites or mobile applications on the Popmoney platform.

New York-based CashEdge launched its Popmoney service for consumers at the end of last year and said it is currently offered by 175 financial institutions--including $9 billion BECU in Seattle and $3.7 billion Patelco CU in San Francisco and at eight of the nation's 10 largest banks.
