The California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues have named Andrea Svoboda as director of political affairs, while Patty Salazar has been hired as state legislative and regulatory lobbyist.

Svoboda joined the leagues in 2008 as a government affairs specialist. In her new position, she will oversee fundraising programs for state and federal political action committees, as well as coordinate campaign involvement on behalf of league-supported candidates. She has been filling the position since it became vacant in May 2010.

Salazar, who began her new position July 26, will help represent the Leagues to legislative and regulatory decision makers in California and Nevada. Salazar was a senior account executive, local government, for Cerrell Associates, Inc. Prior to that, she worked as a caseworker for Los Angeles Councilman Alex Padilla's office and was an assistant to the chief of staff for Los Angeles Councilman Jose Huizar.
