First CU Gets SBA Award
The $452 million First Credit Union is the latest in the industry to be recognized by the SBA for its lending efforts.
The Chandler, Ariz.-based CU was the recent recipient of the 2009 Lender Advocacy Award from the SBA's Arizona district office. According to the agency, it gives the award to lenders who are advocates for small businesses through the SBA's loan programs.
First CU had 32 outstanding SBA loans totaling $1.4 million as of March, NCUA call report data showed.
Several other CUs have also been recognized this year by the SBA with lending awards in their respective states.
