A pair of billion-dollar credit unions have committed to being among the first users of the mobile remote-deposit capture service from Eastern Corporate Federal Credit Union and its Vertifi Software LLC subsidiary.

They are the $3.7 billion Randolph-Brooks FCU of Live Oak, Texas, and the $4 billion Digital FCU of Marlborough, Mass. The first client of the Mobile DeposZip service is the $91 million Torrance Community FCU of Torrance, Calif.

The custom-branded mobile solution works on iPhone and Google Android platforms.

EasCorp said that in addition to the three mobile users, it now has 35 active credit union users of its desktop DeposZip RDC service for homes and businesses and another 17 in various stages of deployment.

Randolph-Brooks and Digital together already have more than 55,000 members using the Vertifi-hosted desktop RDC service, according to 275-member EasCorp in Burlington, Mass.

“By offering DeposZip Mobile, we expand the appeal of RBFCU services to our technology-driven members and potential members, and we also increase the overall convenience and versatility of our products and services. We plan to aggressively market this product throughout our San Antonio and Austin market areas,” said Mary O'Rourke, assistant vice president of member service operations at Randolph-Brooks FCU.

Craig Roy, senior vice president for support services at 355,000-member Digital FCU, said, “RDC has been an important strategic initiative for DCU for more than two years, and we have had impressive results both in terms of member participation and cost savings. The mobile channel is a logical extension of this strategy, and we expect that it will add substantial value to our service.”
