R.I. CU Uses Web to Aid Members Caught in Floods

At least one Rhode Island credit union, the $106 million Wave FCU of Warwick, was doing its part Wednesday by using its Web site to help its members cope with the record breaking floods that have devastated dozens of communities this week.

Wave, which has kept its branches open but like others found itself short staffed, alerted its members to a Central Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce directive on how to file claims for damage or economic loss and to determine eligibility assistance.

The Chamber message suggested its assistance offer be spread to Wave members "or someone you know who has suffered economic loss or property damage."

The Wave Web site (wavefcu.org) also noted that the Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce is a participant "working in conjunction with the RI Emergency Management Agency to assist the individuals and businesses impacted" by flooding.
