The success of Florida Commerce Credit Union's WeLiveFit! $10,000 challenge went so far beyond expectations, the cooperative is already looking for new families for 2010's contest.
Since February, seven families have competed in the challenge to reduce their debt, increase their savings and boost their credit scores for a chance to win $10,000. The families, who worked closely with financial coaches from Florida Commerce, are featured in a monthly show about their challenges and successes. The winner of the contest will be announced Jan. 19.
The WeLiveFIT! challenge has given the community a personal glimpse into the lives of every day families dealing with money and budget issues, and how they tackled these struggles to improve their finances, said Samantha Strickland, vice president of growth and brand management at $315 million Florida Commerce in Talahassee.
