Oklahoma Merger Done
Oklahoma Employees Credit Union of Oklahoma City has completed its merger with the $10 million OKC Thrift CU, increasing Oklahoma Employees' total assets to $310 million.
The consolidation, which has been in the works since last summer, was formally approved in October and made effective Nov. 2.
"OKC has had a healthy balance sheet, but they came to us realizing we could offer a broader portfolio of products and services to their membership," said Jennifer Lown, director of marketing at Oklahoma Employees, which has 45,000 members.
OKC, a single-sponsor CU with 1,400 members, has been serving employees of OPUBCO, the publisher of The Daily Oklahoman and other newspapers.
Oklahoma Employees holds a community charter and was started in 1954.
