Kansas City Credit Union Takes to the Ice to Support the Home Team

When Kansas City, Mo.'s new professional hockey team, the Missouri Mavericks, hit the ice, Mazuma Credit Union will be there.
The Kansas City-based $410 million credit union has become the team's official credit union sponsor.
"We are honored to be the exclusive credit union sponsor of the Missouri Mavericks hockey team," said Mazuma CU CEO Rob Givens. "This is a fantastic opportunity to get involved at the ground level of a fun, family-oriented event. We know the Kansas City area will embrace the Mavericks and enjoy the exciting atmosphere that hockey brings to the community."
As part of its sponsorship, Mazuma's logo will be visible throughout the new Independence Event Center in Independence, Mo. From the center ice, dasher boards, players' jerseys and the mascot's jersey to giveaway items handed to fans at games throughout the year, the Mazuma CU logo will be on display. The center's video board and public address announcements will also spotlight Mazuma as the "exclusive credit union" sponsor during each game.
"We are proud to have a partner who is so committed to the community. It was important for the team to have a financial institution as a partner for all of our players who are new residents to this great community," said Scott Hillman, Missouri Mavericks head coach and director of hockey operations. "The 'Little Saver's' program sponsored by Mazuma is an example of their commitment to the community and the youth in eastern Jackson County."
Mazuma will also sponsor several promotions throughout the Missouri Mavericks' season. Each game will feature a Mazuma "Little Saver of the Game." Entry boxes will be available in the lobby at each of the 10 Mazuma CU branches in the Kansas City area. Parents may submit a Little Saver of the Game entry card at any Mazuma location on behalf of their children between the ages of five to 12 years. Each child chosen from the entries drawn at random before every game will receive two tickets for a specified game, where they'll be called onto the ice prior to the game to be introduced with the Mavericks' goalie. The Little Saver of the Game will also receive a $25 savings bond and a Little Saver T-shirt.
Mazuma will also sponsor the "Check of the Game." During each Missouri Mavericks home game, a video screen replay will feature a Mavericks player checking an opposing player into the boards.
