'Rally Towel' Soaks up Attention for Clearview

Clearview Federal CU is generating a little good will with the college crowd this fall distributing free "rally towels" to students or fans showing a ticket stub for an athletic event at nearby Robert Morris University of Pittsburgh.

So far, Clearview, located in suburban Moon Township, has given out 200 of the towels at its branches to members who show a ticket stub by attending a RMU home football, basketball, or hockey game. The CU had earlier placed a 2,000 towel order with a vendor.

At the same time, Clearview last week debuted a series of radio ads promoting CU donations to a pediatrics charity as part of a linkup with a second college, the University of Pittsburgh and its basketball games.

As for the "rally towels" debuted Sept. 19, Clearview actually designed the "Athletics Colonial" logo and "Go RUMU" message, which has now become an element of newfound school spirit, according to college officials.

"Our aim has been go give back to the community and what better way than to give our backyard university some added school spirit," said Mark Brennan, president/CEO.
