The $58 million Entrust Federal Credit Union provided another example of credit unions coming through for their members recently when it helped a member get ahold of needed cash while overseas.
Entrust was chartered in 1970 to serve employees of the Foreign Mission Board.
In this circumstance, the child of an Entrust member in Russia required $7,500 for an emergency surgery, which had to be prepaid. The problem was that the amount surpassed the limit set for cash withdrawals from overseas and the limit had to be raised immediately.
The member called the credit union through its call center that is hosted by PSCU Financial Services. Although a PSCU Contact Center member service representative was not authorized to raise the CU's limit, the rep contacted the credit union and worked with staff until the matter was successfully resolved.
"The patience and effort of PSCU Financial Services staff alleviated stress from our member in Russia, and in my opinion also saved his child's life," said Linda McAlister, vice president of Information Systems at Entrust. "Since nearly half of our members reside overseas, business hours vary. As a result, access to call center representatives at any time is key to providing all members with superior service."
"Our call center handles inquiries from all parts of the globe at all times, and we have a trained staff in place to address any situation that might arise," said Peter Schmitt, executive director of PSCU Financial Services. "By providing the level of exceptional member service PSCU Financial Services is known for, our representatives worked through a difficult situation and resolved a medical emergency."
