Randy Chambers Elected Chairman of National Federation of CDCUs

There has been a changing of the guard at the National Federation of Community Development Credit Unions.

Because of established term limits, Eunice J. Rogers has retired as board chairman. Self Help Credit Union Chief Financial Officer Randy Chambers, who has been serving as board vice chairman, has been elected the new board chairman.

"I am humbled to be selected to lead the federation over the next year. Following in the footsteps of visionary leaders like Eunice Rogers and Rita Haynes is an awesome task," said Chambers. "The passion that our members and staff bring for disadvantaged communities is unparalleled in the credit union movement. In these troubled times, the federation is as committed as ever to helping our credit unions and the communities and people we serve to weather this economic storm."

Rounding out the board officers are Team Financial FCU CEO Lynda Milton, vice chairman; Northeast Community FCU Board President Michael Chan, treasurer; Lower East Side People's FCU Chairman Deyanira Del Rio, recording secretary on the executive committee; and South Side Community FCU CEO Gregg Brown, corresponding secretary.

In Region 1, Sharon Saulters, president/CEO of Triumph Baptist FCU, was elected director. A former National Federation board member, Saulters has continued to be active in the federation's faith-based credit union task force.

In Region 2, Mississippi State Sen. Robert L. Jackson, treasurer/CEO of First Delta FCU, was re-elected to the National Federation's board of directors. Jackson has been a longtime director with the federation, serving various nonconsecutive terms.

Daniel Scott, president/CEO of Faith Based FCU, was newly elected to director for Region 4. Scott operates a small faith-based CDCU chartered in 2003.

National Federation directors may serve up to three three-year terms. Board officers serve one-year terms and are elected by their peers.
