Affinity Credit Union, Basking Ridge, N.J., announced the appointment of Kevin McClosky to vice president of lending. Affinity also announced the appointment of Gordon Smith as vice president of information technology. Smith has over 25 years of information systems experience.
Teachers Federal Credit Union, Farmingville, N.Y., announced the promotion of Stephen Machlica to assistant vice president of marketing. Prior to his promotion, Machlica held the position of director of marketing for the credit union. Machlica has over 20 years of experience in the marketing industry with 11 years in the credit union industry.
Southeast Corporate Credit Union, Jacksonville, Fla., announced the appointment of three new members to the supervisory committee. William F. Marquardt is president/CEO of City County Credit Union in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Jerry Maughon is president/CEO of Okaloosa County Teachers Federal Credit Union in Crestview, Fla. Richard H. Simonton Sr. is president/CEO of Insight Financial Credit Union in Orlando, Fla. The three join Debbie H. Jones and Robert Fertitta on the board.
Texell Credit Union, Temple, Texas, announced that Shawn Zenon has joined the credit union's management team as vice president of lending. Zenon has over 12 years of lending experience and has held vice president positions for credit unions in Louisiana and Texas.
Kemba Financial Credit Union, Gahanna, Ohio, announced the hiring of Mark Susi as branch manager for the Hilliard branch. Susi will now be responsible for branch sales, member service and new business development within the Hilliard community. Prior to joining Kemba, Susi held management positions with MBNA and Fifth Third Bank.
UW Credit Union, Madison Wis., announced that Monica Prentiss has been named branch manager of the UW's Madison Area Technical College Branch. Prentiss was with the credit union from 2002 to 2006 and then returned in 2007.
Heritage Federal Credit Union, Newburgh, Ind., announced that LeAnn Cooper, senior branch manager of the First Avenue location, will assume a newly created community development position. Cooper has been with the credit union for five and a half years and has previous financial experience.
Anoka Hennepin Credit Union, St. Paul, Minn., announced that Paul Dammann, senior vice president, received the Certified Credit Union Executive designation for his completion of Credit Union National Association's certified executive program. To receive the designation, credit union professionals must complete nine self-study, college level business finance courses that focus on topics related to credit union operations.
Community Trust Credit Union, Grayslake, Ill., announced that The Grayslake Chamber of Commerce and Industry has sworn in Trust Credit Union's CEO Madeline Lipka. Lipka has served the Grayslake Chamber of Commerce in various capacities since 1994.
Afena Federal Credit Union, Marion, Ill., honored Membership Relationship Officer Lisa Garza as she celebrates her 15-year anniversary of working with the people of Grant and Wabash counties.
Altura Credit Union, Riverside, Calif., announced that it has hired new branch managers and has promoted two staffers to take over for managers who will be moving. Tamian Parrott has been named manager of the new West Hemet branch. Parrot previously was manager of the San Jacinto branch. Amanda Greer has been promoted to take his place in San Jacinto. David E. Fisher has been named manager of the new University Avenue branch. He was previously manager of the Corona-McKinley branch. Alice De Almeida has been promoted to manager of the Corona-McKinley branch to take Fisher's place. Kelli Yoakum-Morgan has been named manager of the Moreno Valley branch.
Pasadena Service Federal Credit Union, Pasadena, Calif., announced the promotion of Ken Landis to CEO. Landis started with the credit union four years ago as executive vice president. Landis has 17 years of credit union experience.
The Golden Credit Union, Sacramento, Calif., announced that Sylvia LaBad has been promoted to branch manager at the San Jose office. LaBad previously served as the assistant branch manager. She has over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry working with both banks and credit unions.
The Credit Union Executives Society, Palm Desert, Calif., named H. Floyd Tanner, chairman of the board for Mountain America Credit Union, West Jordan, Utah, the 2008 Credit Union Executives Society Director of the Year. Tanner, a 30-year veteran of the credit union movement, received the award for myriad reasons. During his 16-year career at Mountain America CU, he helped build 50 new branches, grew the membership by 185 percent and supported smaller credit unions with donations. Tanner was also active in the surrounding community; he sponsored the Children's Medical Center with a portion of each ATM transaction, and he led an initiative to waive interest loans for troops deployed on active duty. The CUES Director of Year award recognizes board members for excellence in credit union volunteerism.
