HUNTINGTON, N.Y. — Bethpage Federal Credit Union partnered with Book Revue, an independent bookstore in Huntington, N.Y., to sponsor author events throughout the year. This months author event featured actor, producer and author Henry Winkler.
Winkler, known as the Fonz from the television series "Happy Days" is the author of 14 books based on a character named Hank Zipzer. The character is a fourth grader with dyslexia. Winkler shared his firsthand knowledge about difficulties stemming from dyslexia and signed copies of his books.
Aside from sponsoring the author events, Bethpage also offers to buy new members their next book. Upon opening a checking account, new Bethpage members can present a Book Revue receipt and Bethpage will deposit the cost of the book up to $25.
